time goes by so slowly for those who wait... no time to hesitate!

Wow. Thats a nice song. Its Hung Up by Madonna. I dunno why but for some reason, I am getting more and more attracted to her. Maybe its because of her age-defying body. Maybe its because of her talent. Maybe its because of the pink suit that she wore in her Hung Up MTV...
Whatever it is, she has somehow caught my attention.

I think she would be the perfect actress for The Boss if there ever is a movie based on Metal Gear Solid 3. Yes...

Maybe... just maybe... I might make my own Hung Up MTV....

All right. A few more hours before I had to walk in. So I guess I will just make an entry today.


The past week was a somewhat boring, outstanding and taxing week for me. Want to know why? Let me tell you why.

ITS COZ I SAID SO!!!!!!!!!

Ok. Like what the heck.. back to my crappy antics again.

I had my first swimming lessons last week and I thouhgt it would be fun and slack and easy just like in BMT but hell no. I was damn wrong.

Our instructor, FI Alan, knocked us down for talking when we are in the file. And he got this tone that tells you that "You bloody nimcompoop. Better watch out when your around me for I am not to be messed with!" Yeah. Thats the kind of feeling he gave me. After he gave us that first meeting gift, he taught us how we should lay down our stuff inside the swimming complex as it was our first time here. Then, for the first time in like 4 weeks after BMT, I had to do something within a time limit. He gave us like 2 minutes for all of us(there were 42 of us) to change into our trunks, lay down our stuff neatly and fall in. Heck. So long never rush to do stuff ler... Of course we failed to meet the time limit. We thought that he will be pumping us again but he just gave us a glare and give us like 30 more seconds to do what we are supposed to do. Luckily, we managed to do what he wanted us to do.

Next up is warm-up time. Likewise, I thought warm-up would be a piece of cake but... you guessed it, I was wrong again. After the usual, thigh, calf, hamstring, neck, arm, chest, trunk stretching, we thought we were ready to go but no. Alan asked us to carry on 20 push ups for him. And his 20 counts is like
1.2.3.4.5.6..7...8....9.....10..........11..........12..........13..........
14...............15................16.................17..................
18...........................19................................20
with each dots representing a pause. After that, we had to do 20 sets of 4-counts jumping jacks.
Then after the jumping jacks we did any 20 similar kind of push ups. Then another 20 sets of 4-counts jumping jacks. Followed by any 20 similar kind of push ups. And finally we did 20 sets of 8-counts jumping jacks... Thus concludes our warm-up.

For the first session, he made us swam one lap across the pool using breast stroke. Those that cannot swim would be filtered out while those that could will remain. Obviously, I could swim. Next, for those that passed the swimming, he made us trap water in the pool to see how long we can last. While trapping water, he would make us turn left and right and then make us raise our hands. Those that failed to meet his timing were again filter out and those that met his timing remained. I failed his timing.

After that, he categorised us. Those that are non-swimmers would be in Cat C. They will be learining basic swimming skills. Those that can swim but cannot meet his timing in trapping water would be in Cat B. We would be learning how to trap water effectively and LIFESAVING 2. Those that can trap water and can swim would be in Cat A. They would be learning LIFESAVING 3. Alan said that for those of us who are in Cat B, if we perform well, we might be able to take LIFESAVING 3 after we complete our LIFESAVING 2. I will want to aim for LIFESAVING 3 because once I complete that, I would be recognized and vouched by the SINGAPORE POLICE FORCE as a certified lifeguard. Ha. This is definitely more credible than those certs that you get at the CCs or some other swimming clubs.

When the categorisation is done, the lesson ended. And before we left, Alan said that he did not tekan us much since its only our first lesson.....

Anyways, we also found out that Alan was a former dragonboated for NTU. NTU.... I wonder when they will give me a reply for my application.

We ran our 2.4 kilometres last Tuesday and goodness gracious... my timing increased by 1 minute. Ugh. Thats what one week of block leave can do to my fitness. Shucks. I must train harder.

On Wednesday, we had this Police Workplan Seminar where the Minister of Home Affairs-cum- Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng and the Minister of Community Development, Youth and Sports and many other high ranking officers came down to talk and discuss about the future of the SPF. Some of my squad mates got the chance to spoke to these big shots but for most of the time, we were just audiences... its really a mentally taxing time. We had to endure through 6 hours of the talk. And we cant fall asleep. Not falling asleep is definitely not easy when we are sitting on the comfortable gallery seats and the whole hall is air conditioned.

Thats about all the interesting event that happened. Oh. I passed my weapon handling test and would be going for live range next week. Ha. Cant wait to fire my 698grams Taurus M85 revolver fitted with a laser sighting just like SAR21. Ha.
