October 13, 2006

Today marks the cessation of my mid-tertiary education in Catholic Junior College.
How time flies. I can still remember the 3rd of January 2005.

On that morning, I arrived at the gates of CJC, feeling nervous and shy - I can't remember the last time being surrounded by many many girls(primary school girls doesnt count). We were ushered into the school hall by our JC2 facilitators. They are a bunch of warm-hearted peeps. Inside the air-conditioned hall, I saw the man who would be my principal for the next two years - Brother Paul Rogers. He started his introductory speech with a short reflection on the tsunami that occured in Indonesia then and then gradually, we advanced into the initial stages of our orientation....

Boy. It feels as if that just happened yesterday. Time really flies. Before I knew it, my two years in Cheng Jin's College.... CJC I mean, has come to an end. It has been a memorable chapter of my life because of people like Elleen and Julian but at the same time, it is also a traumatizing one because of people like Ted. I shall mention more about them later.

The bottom line is, I enjoyed my two years tenure in the college. I enjoyed my friends.(sounds wrong but you get the point ya). I enjoyed my teachers. I enjoyed the CJ experience. Period. Anything more I said would be standard responses like "My friends were with me.." or "The people are all very friendly.." etc etc etc. So I shall skip that.

The one person that I would commend most is my beloved home tutor, Mr. Alvin Low Juay Kiang. I swear that he is the best teacher I have had in my 12 yrs of education.

Merits of Mr. Low:

- Never fails to make sure that we understand all our lectures and tutorials.

- Never fails to give us adequate homeworks.

- Never fails to mark our homework meticulously and sincerly.(All the remarks he made for us and all the proper answers he gave us when he returned our tutorials)

- Did his utmost, and more than he should, in helping us through our Project Work. I seriously believe that his the teacher that did most for his class for PW. Remember all the skit rehearsals, dry runs, class presentations? Sorry Mr Low for making you read through my 8 drafts of PI ^^

- Is always willing to help his students... even when they ask for help at inappropriate times of the day(like 1am in the morning)

- Always tried his best to make SD-Civics-NE lessons interesting for us despite our cannot-be-bothered attitude. Seriously, he could have just breeze through whatever he was REQUIRED to teach us and then slack for the rest of the lesson but he didn't. A sense of urgency, we receive only 86400 seconds a day are some of the stuff that I learnt from him during those lessons.

- He cares an awful lot for his students. Just think about the dressing down he gave us after we screwed one of our SPAs. Can anybody actually remember it? He was saying "Its like you know your friend is in danger but you are not allowed to help him." So why don't he just give us the answers in the first place. That way, everyone will be happy.

- Overwhelmingly generous, has a big heart and is a fantastic motivator. Too bad none of us fulfilled the Prelims Pact we made with him. Well, I am just 4 marks away from fulfilling that pact.

- Fiendishly intelligent. I think he got 4 As for his subjects, Merit for his 2 S papers and an A for GP for his 'A' levels. In case you are wondering, Mr. Low hails from Hwa Chong Junior College.

- His a metrosexual. Haha *evil grins*

Well I could go on and on. Just know that the above-mentioned list of merits is inexhaustive. Yeah, Mr. Low is seriously that damn good. Given his caliber, he ought to be the subject head. Must be the Mr. Wee refuse to give place. Then again, Mr Low would be going to HCJC to teach next year. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!!!

Thanks a million Mr. Alvin Low Juay Kiang for all the efforts you spent on me and the class.
For being such a nice person, I am sure Santa Claus will send you a present this coming Christmas.

Now I shall say something about my fellow classmates.

Elleen Yang: You have been a very nice Discipline Councellor. Thanks for being so tolerant with my retarded antics. I will never forget the times when I poked your bread into oblivion and your expression when you saw your pockmarked bread. Please note that its somewhat impossible for a person to control his fart. So please don't blame me when I happen to fart next to you. It was sheer conincidence. Nice to sit next to you. Lastly, I sincerly apologize for all the mean and insensitive things I said to you and did to you during the past two years.

Novi: Noviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Don't look so stressed all the time. Sometimes its better to take things in its stride. Think too much also no use ok. You have been a very good Chem Rep. Hope your phone will recover soon. Lets meet and go watch Pokemon the Movie 2007 next year. Nah just kidding haha. Come online more frequently ok.

Rizka: As the HTC for our class, I think you have done a so-so job haha. Nonetheless, you're still a great HTC. Good to have your company during Bintan and Mawai. Look forward to your tempehs. Lets meet and eat Carl's Jr. sometime in the future.

Florence: Paris Hilton of 2T15? Nah haha. Dunno what to say also because I seldom interact with you... Oh. You have been a very nice Physics rep. And its not a very nice thing to indulge in making fun of Elleen and me.

Bancha: Yo Boss haha... was good to have your company during the first three months. Take care.

Julian: Mr. Baey Yong Jun! Work harder for GP. Your hair will always be very nice so try not to ask me anymore. Do inform me next time when you discovered the secrets of Area 51 and the Bermuda Triangle. Find one day go your house swim... Elleen also going right?

Ted: You bloody Sick - Smiley Groper. Do you know that you're the first person to touch my virgin chest. Idiot... And you gave me a scar on my chin too. I will be reminded of you whenever I see that scar for the rest of my life ahhhhhhhhhhh. Why you? If only its siren... Anyways, thanks for taking all my cold jokes during class, breaks everywhere. Thanks for all the interesting stuffs you shared with me and the coffee-spilling lesson you taught me last year. Nice neighbour to sit with. Please understand that I am straight. Work hard and enter NUS so you can have all the eye candies you want. *Prays hard that all chio bus will enrol in NTU mwahahahaha*

Ben: Doctor Loh. You are a somewhat intersting entity haha... Nah, nice to have you around. Like Novi, you tend to look quite stressed sometimes. Let nature take its course ok! Must recommend me some aphrodisiac one of these days. Still remember the Bintan bet which you lost? When are you gonna run around half-naked?

Kenneth: You is the master criticizer in the class. Sometimes I find it very hard to communicate with you. Please try not to respond with "Why cannot?" all the time... you won't get a girlfriend that way. Work hard for your accountant dream.

Lunyan: How was tea with Premier Wen Jiabao yesterday haha... Thansk for all the help you gave me for my F maths and chinese hehe. Don't be so slack. Start studying ok. Nice to have another Marist in class. Lets play Rise of Nations soon.

Alphonsus: Everybody, Alphonsus here is a commando in the making. Soon, he will be entering the commando camp for his NS. So don't mess with him when you see him next time. For all you know he will use his tactical skills to overwhelm you haha. One thing I like about you is your directness and frankness - you don't go one big round just to suan somebody and you dare to comment on other people's works (like my NYAA report) truthfully and in front of them. Thanks for all the editing you've done for me. Thanks for all the funny magic cards you shared with me. Please don't treasure your cards like they are your wife. They are just a few pieces of lifeless tree fibers.

Cho Yau: Still remember seeing you sending a girl off in a taxi last year haha. Still dunno why you chose to sit with T19... haiz. Nevermind haha. Summary king, work harder for GP ya.

Gerard: Happy birthday. Now I will remember when your bdae is haha. You're a pretty nice and interesting guy. Your blu-tak corner exhibit are fun to look at. Take care!

Alvin: Alvin ah.... dunno what to say... I like your drawings. And your wavy stomach. Take care. How do you do the finger grabbing trick so that you can trap your friend's hand and then proceed to squeeze his nipples?

Chia Seng: Stop being so blur haha. Its been nice to hang around with you. Wish you and cindy all the best hehe. Must celibate though. Don't try anything funny ok. Work hard for GP, otherwise your 3 As wasted.

Ming Hong: Yo slut! You have been a very good sports buddy siaz haha... please note that I dint pang seh you ok. Its just that either I am not aware that you will be runing or I got something on. Lets see... Rion here is a very romantic guy, he plays the violin, the piano and can dance as well. Plus he do alot of sports, is tanned and most importantly, he has a very defined bod with six pacs and all which he likes to show off. His into classical music that sounds like dying songs to me haha(no offense tho). SO girls, if your looking for a man, give him a chance. Apparently his available again heheehehehehe. Hmm now that I think of it, its quite surprising that I get to be acquainted with you. I mean its like we barely talk to each other during J1 and its only in mid J2 that we started to know each other... If memory serves me correctly, I think it was during a physics lecture and you told me about the wedding ring finger thingy haha... Anyways, that was a fun thing to know. Lest go for late night movies again.

Anthony: I like your shirt during our dinner last night. Still remember the way I played bridge with you during Bintan haha... Take care.

Marc: The Einstein of our class. Very determined as well. Takes two S paper and 4 subs. Good luck with your scholarships and A levels ok!

Jeylani: Yo nice roommate in Bintan yeah. All the stupid stuffs we did there lol.... Good luck!

Hafiz: HMmm dunno what to say again lol... take care ok! Hope you make it into national soccer team!!!

Phew finally... now that when I think about my past two years, its really very nice to know that there are actually some interesting things that happened to me. Things that will go forgotten if not for this blog haha... WEll, I am in a somewhat semi-emotional mood now upon reflecting about my college life. I really dislike coming to the end of something. Then again, nothing gold stays forever. Its imperative for us to move on to find new friends while at the same time, keeping old ones in our hearts.

Enough is said for today. I am sorry if I bored you to death with my ramblings.

I love CJC 2T15!

Sighs.

Was awoken up abruptly at around 1am+ by an unfortunate incident at home... Up till now still can't fall asleep. Also dunno whether should say if its an unfortunate or fortunate event.

Sighs.

I still need to go to school and still got a mock exam later at 2.30pm...

I still can't fall asleep.

Perhaps a round of Uncharted Waters will help relieve my insomnia.

October 08, 2006

My com is pretty screwed up now. All because of my stupid brother. Dunno downloaded what stuff from some malicious sites and now my com is infected with pop ups and virus-warning signs... Dumbass.

OK. Today I did corrections for my Maths Prelims paper and also tried the 2005 A lvl. maths paper. Finally got something started.

I found a chinese version of Uncharted Waters 2 today. Very happy about it. Also found the chinese version of Uncharted Waters 3 and 4 but can't seem to open them and play. Dunno whats wrong. Oh well~

Hehe drew some pictures again today while taking a break:

A pretty warped version of Major Alex Louis Armstrong, the muscle man in FMA.

The next Harry Potter?

October 07, 2006

I have been procrastinating my time away today... Woke up in the morning with the intention to start revising after breakfast but I became glued to my computer instead.

Told myself that I should relax for awhile and would start studying at 12 noon but I end up playing the com up till 4pm. I thought I would start studying after my Full Metal Alchemist ends at 4.30pm but all I did was just look, yes literally, through my TYS and after less than 30 minutes, I am back to my com again.

I played all the way till 7pm where I had my dinner. Looked through my Prelim papers and after like 30 minutes, I started playing again... I am so hopeless.

My maths mock paper is like 37 hours away and I still haven't start revision proper. I am doomed for my A levels.

Found the hex editor, otherwise known as cheat, for my uncharted waters this afternoon and tweak my character's stats to uber-ness. Mwahahaha.

Check this out:

W/o the cheats, I would take about 80 days in the game to up one navigational level. That is equivalent to 20-25 minutes in the real world. So, I would need roughly 19 hours to achieve 50 levels.

W/o the cheats, I would take about many days in the game to up on battle level. That is equivalent to about 2 hours in the real world. I need 100 hours to achieve 50 levels.

With the cheat, all I need is just 2 minutes and my character would become invincible. So can you see the benefits of the cheats now? Do note that there are more than the above two stats to raise before ubernizing of a character is possible. They include Knowledge, Seamanship, Leadership, Courage etc etc. Imagine trying to max them the orthodox way... What a waste of time!

This is why that exists smart and not-so-smart people.

You might disagree with my doings and label me as a bloody cheater but you have to realised that not all game, especially monotonous ones, are worth playing through orthodoxically. And its just a game, so don't get too serious about it.

Should I continue playing somemore or go to sleep now and wake up early tomorrow to revise...

I think I will just play for awhile more... yes, just a while more...
My prelims results are as follows:

C. Maths - B(65/100)
F. Maths - C(58/100)
Physics - B(67/100)
General Paper - C5(54/100)

While most may think its a somewhat acceptable grades, I myself is not very happy with it. Must work hard ler.
Stupid Ted lah.. make me Maple all day long.

September 25, 2006

Woke up at 4.30am feeling really bad. My whole body was on fire. Even my mattress was hot. My throat was really sore and my nose were stucked - I can only breathe through my mouth which aren't helping my already sore throat...

Doc says I didn't get enough sleep. So I slept for the whole day today. Now my back aches.

Felt really terrible when I am awake. Headaches, warm body, coldness, blocked nose, sore throat, dry mouth, bad breath, oily face ugh~ Plus, with all these plauging me, its really hard to fall asleep.

Finally got better in the night.

Won't be attending school tomorrow because my MC says so...

Hope I will recover tomorrow.

*5am in the morning....*
Mom: Cheng jin, why you wake up so early?
Cheng jin: Not suang la, think got fever..
Mom: Aiyo, again? You that day go swim got touch the water is it?
Cheng jin: ........

Mom will always be mom

September 24, 2006

Ugh, falling sick again.

Sore throat.

Heavy head.

Lethargy.

Symptons of an oncoming fever.

Somebody help me. I don't wanna fall sick.

I went to eat KFC for lunch with JJ this afternoon and saw you-know-who at Long John's Silver. JJ was so happy.

Thought of watching movie but somebody already watched all the shows that were released so far. Went home instead.

Just installed a new online game today - the Legend of Ares. The gameplay is similar to Diablo 2 and pretty fun according to me cousins. Hence, I decided to try it out. I kind of got sick of Maple already.

"Somebody saveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee me. I don't care how you do it just saveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *thump*...." - Quoter just collapse due to shortness of breath
Yay, got a new blog skin. I finally bested my moronic computer. WOOOO~ This proves that machines can never defeat humans!!!

Went to Seraphina's b-day party today. Somehow I feel that the party is less eventful compared to previous ones. Well, at least I get to swim a few laps haha. I really needed that exercise: felt so shiok to get my body worked out. We had BBQ at the BBQ pit for the night and some of the food looks really tasty but I can't eat them all because of the lunch I ate in the afternoon. Will talk more about that later. I just sat down with Sher, Sher's friend Hui Ting, JJ, Sebas, Sebas' girlfriend Jie Ying next to the pit and chill off for the night.

I took a plate of Bee Hoon, meatballs and fishballs which were all cold(eww~) and since I can't just throw them away, I ate them with joy and pride. After awhile, the kids, Sera's friends, started throwing water bombs at each other haha. It was fun initially watching them bombard each other but our enjoyment was shortlived because the father of one the kids came complaining to us. Apparently, his son's handphone was in his pocket and it got wet, presumeably spoilt as well, during the bombard. He looked very unhappy and was asking us how could we just let the children play with water and he even shouted at the kids, telling them that its very very very wrong to run and play on the road. I was like "What the heck is this guy's problem?" I agreed with my Da Biao Sao, who said that this man has no right to scold the kids because they are under her jurisdiction, if I may use the word. Besides, its a BIRTHDAY PARTY for goodness sake. What do we do during a birthday party? We play and let loose everything. So its really ridiculous when he asks us "How could you people let the children play with water?!?!?!". Furthermore, its his son that wants to play the water bomb in the first place so if his handphone is spoilt because of it, he should blame himself and not us since he himself didn't remove the handphone from his pocket.

That incident didn't dampen the party's mood and everything goes on as usual. Sebas was like telling us how he would bash that man up if its his party... he kept talking about this 12th scroll which I have no idea what it is. Somebody please enlighten me.

We jumped into the pool after that and I challenge Sher to the dog-style swimming which, needless to say, I won. We swam for abit before Hui Ting needs to leave. Sher sent her off to the taxi stand and we got back to our seats where to talk cock and all. Thats about it for the rest of the night, we just sat down, chit chat, ate some stuff here and there etc etc etc. I had some sort of a mini old song singing competition with Jie Ying haha... stupid me~ Went home at around 9.50pm.

Before going to the party, I went to PS with Sher and JJ to buy presents for Sera. Somebody took the chance to buy a new shirt for herself. Then we went to have Carl's Jr for lunch. JJ ordered a Western Double Bacon Cheeseburger while I ordered a burger which the waitress claimed to be the largest in the stall. However, my burger seemed to be smaller than JJ's. hmmm... Anyways, lunch was freaking funny because we were like cracking lame jokes throughout and theres even this minor 'earthquake' lol....

In the end, Jay can only finish half of his burger and I ate half of the remaining for him. SO, I took in 1.25 Carl's Jr Burger for lunch, which explains why I don't feel like eating much during the BBQ. Next time, when eating burgers, or any bread stuff, don't drink too much water. The reason is once the water and burger, or bread, mixed in your stomach, the bread will expand and make you feel full faster.

Had an argument with my mother when I got home. Don't feel like talking about it. Just know that I am very displeased. Adults always think they are right and we must always submit to their every whims.

"I will be back!"

September 22, 2006

Just returned home from watching ''The Haunted Apartments". Its not a very nice show but it isn't obscenely bad either, I would say its just an average show. Not scary at all, much to my disappointment although there were some parts that were somewhat disgusting. I doubt if you are not as tolerant as me then you should skip this show because most of the film is narrative and not much action. The ending is kinky though hehe...
Saddified.

Spent the whole afternoon trying to redesign my blog into something nicer and I ended with my present interface. All because of my bloody computer. For some reason my computer can't 'read' and display the nicer interfaces which I found. Damn this inbecile machine.

Was bathing this morning at 2am+ and suddenly saw a cockacroach crawling around the bathroom floor. It was PEEKING at me! For that, I 'piak' it into the sewer hole. And pour down some bleach for good measures. Then, when I opened my toilet door, I saw another cockaroach; it was on the bathroom mat. Gosh. I flatten it with a newspaper roll... which have Zoe's face on it haha. Too bad it didnt got stuck on the face~

The sides of my chest are aching..

I want to get a nicer interface! But I need to get a new computer first... Damn

While waiting for the ship to land at Orbis, I decided to blog.

Hwahhhhhhh. Its finally over. Two grueling weeks.. no three in fact, the one week holiday is not a holiday in my opinion. After three weeks of mugging, I can finally take a breather. *Breathes in* *Breathes out*

Awwww, the air tastes as great as ever. However, I do realized that the cessation of my preliminary examinations only means the inception of my 'A' levels examinations. Good grief. When will this Vicious Cycle ever end? One after the other, our beloved Ministry of Education [PAP rocks!] threw these examinations at us....

Oh well, at least I get to slack abit for the time being and I think thats the most important thing.

*Ship landed at Orbis. Proceeding to book a ticket to Ludibrium now.*

Wooo, super lucky. The ship to Ludibrium arrived immediately when I reached the station.

Anyways, yeah, the most important thing that matters is that I get some rest for the time being.

Ted came over yesterday and helped my fixed my Maple Story configuration. Thanks to his wondrous skills and inexhaustive knowledge about Maple, I can finally continue Mapling. I get to slack abit. I get to Maple. What could be a better combination at this kind of time hehe.
We played abit of PS2 after that. Wanted to play Dynasty Warriors but too bad, my second controller can't work in the game.

Since we can't play Dynasty Warriors, I decided to have a Bra and Panties Match with Ted - on the PS2 that is haha.. what were you thinking? Played abit of Gran Turismo as well which I totally sucked at.

When Ted went home, I kind of sympatize with him because he has to spend close to 1hr in order to get home. But on second thought, since he is Ted, I guess it doesn't really matter.

I feel so rigid. Havent done any exercise for the past three weeks. Will be going swimming later on in the day.

*Ship just departed from Orbis, heading towards Ludibrium.*

*Finally arrived at Ludibrium.*

Off to Maple...

Study. StUdY. STuDy. StUDY. StUDy. sTuDy.

StUdYiNg takes up about 85% of my daily life now. I guess.

My hair is revolting. Maybe I should cut it soon.

“我愿意为爱瘦一次。”
I hate stats.

I really hate stats.

I truly hate stats.

I sincerly hope that all Stats topics would burn in a very hot place.

I hate stats.

I abhor stats.

I walked home yesterday because I missed my bus and I needed some exercise as well. I was walking along the pavement outside Revenue House and then a bunch of tree branches fell and landed about 1 metre in front of me. Had I walked at a slightly faster speed, it would have landed right on me. I was intrigued by this minor incident. To be more exact, I was intrigued by time.

You see, like I said earlier, the branches would have landed on me if I walked faster. Then again, if I did not do some pull-ups with my friends after the paper and went straight home instead, walking at the same speed along the same path, I would have been hit by the branches. Or, if I did not go to the toilet after the paper, did not do the pull ups and went straight home, I would have caught my bus and ride it home. Then I would not know about the branches falling down and I would not be here writing about it. Its pretty interesting to see how a few minutes can alter a small part of your life. And a large part of it as well in some cases.

The mysteries of time. How fascinating.

Lots of us think we know what time is, but it is hard to define. You can not literally see or touch time, but you can see its effects. The evidence that we are moving through time is found in everything -- our bodies age, buildings weather and crumble, trees grow. Most of us feel the pressure of time as we are pushed to meet deadlines and make appointments. Our lives are often dictated by what time we need to be somewhere.

Wouldn't it be great if we could control time and travel to it. The possibilities are infinite. We can do a gazillion and one things if we ever get our hands on time travelling technology. However, unfortunately, I believe I won't be able to witness such marvels during my lifetime. Well, I guess I have nothing much to lose because I also believe future generations might not be able to witness is either. Perhaps those 'very future' generations might but definitely not those 'near future' ones.

There are simply too many problems accompanying time travel if it is possible and these problems are often unsolvable. If I am born in 1988, how can I exist in say, 1955? Lets look at this scenario: I, the smartest kick-ass genius in the whole world, created a time machine while I am still in year 2006, struggling to get through my prelims and A levels. I travelled all the way back to year 0001 A.D. I saw my ultra-super-hyper great grandfather, assuming I have the ability to, and I killed him. Now that he is dead, will I still exist? If yes, then we will have this extremely complicated paradox. How is it possible that I can continue to exist since the source of my ancestry, my ultra grandfather, is dead? It wouldn't make sense would it? Then again, if I cease to exist, do I simply just vanish into thin air? Where would I go to? What will become of me? How about the rest of my family? How about my other dead family members? Therefore, if we just change abit, a tiny weeny bit, of the past, an infinite amount of paradoxes might be created as well. Besides, if I created the time machine in 2006, can it really bring me back to 0001? Can it even bring me back to 2005?

The above mentioned paradox is known as the grandfather paradox to the scientists who are trying to work out the mysteries of time now.

Another theory regarding time travel brings up the idea of parallel universes, or alternative histories. Let's say that I did travel back to meet my ultra grandfather. In the theory of parallel universes, I may have traveled to another universe, one that is similar to ours, but has a different succession of events. For instance, if I were to really kill my ultra grandfather, or any other ancestors, I've only killed that person in one universe, which is no longer the universe that I exist in. And if I then try to travel back to my own time, I may end up in another parallel universe and never be able to get back to the universe I started in.

The idea here is that every action causes the creation of a new universe, and that there are an infinite number of universes that exist. When I killed my ancestor, I created a new universe, a universe that was identical to my own up until the time I changed the original succession of events.

Confused yet? Welcome to the world of time travel. Just imagine how complicated the ticket prices will be.

Actually, most of us may not have realise it but we are all we are all time travelers. As you sit at your desk, doing nothing more than reading my blog, time is traveling around you. The future is constantly being transformed into the past with the present only lasting for a fleeting moment. Everything that you are doing right now is quickly moving into the past, which means we continue to move through time.

The mysteries of time travel. How fascinating.

Gosh, I could keep going on haha. Can't help it. This kinda of things are my favourite topic.

All in all, no one has successfully demonstrated time travel, but no one has been able to rule it out either. So perhaps I shall be a little bit more optimistic.

"Time is resistant to simple definition.'' - Carl Sagan

September 14, 2006

Now my MSN can't work. My com would just hang when I tried to open it. Blast this bloody retarded machine. I am very sure that on the day I buy a new com, an AlienWare perhaps, I would crush this stupid machine with a sledgehammer! Sometimes really can't stand it. It would just hang at the wrong time. And when it can hang, it dun.

The irony of it all is, here I am cursing this rotten machine but I still need it - to play my Uncharted Waters and Maple Story, to surf the net etc etc. Hmmm good practice for GP mwhahahahahaha~

I have that nasty feeling of going to fall ill again. Have been sleeping 5hours for the past few nights. Shit. I didn't expect the mass of Uncharted Waters to be so colossal - so much so that I am attracted to it once I finished studying and wun stop playing it till like 12am++ I wonder whats becoming of me, I mean its the exam period now and I am still fooling around. Cheng jin ah cheng jin, you better buck up or else you will end up with no place in this competition-infested society.

I really think the world was a much better place in the past. No competition and people can like live their life the way they want it - explorer, the arts, pirates just to name a few. The norm now is to like get a job with a stable pay and all would be fine. I am not saying we cannot be what we want in this time and age but it has become more difficult for us to fufill our dreams. Diplomas, degrees, scholarships - these pieces of paper are needed if we want to pursue our goals in our selected career path. How amusing. A few pieces of paper can actually raise your social level and help you become what you want to be. The paradox is, these are just paper, yet they are insanely difficult to obtain. At this rate, I am gonna get A for GP mwhahahahahaahahahaahaha~

Anyways, if I can time travel, I would opt to go back to the 1500s, the age of the world set in my Uncharted Waters, the age of exploration. I would build up a fleet from scratch and traverse the vast oceans in search of new and exotic lands. I would scale through the rough storms during my travels and defeat any pirates, or other fleets, that are courageous enough to attack me. I can continue dreaming the whole day man.

The cause of the ever-increasing competition in our world today and Globalisation can be traced back to a single source - the growth of the human population. Thats quite duh~ but yeah. Perhaps I should become a weapon scientist in the future so that I can create weapons of much-more-massive destruction (WMMMD) and use them to control the population so as to create my ideal world, one with no competition blah blah blah.. For that, I would need to create something much more powerful than nuclear bombs. This reminded me of an extremely destructive weapon - resonance! If I could somehow make, say, China, vibrate at is natural frequency, then I would be able to get rid of 1.6billion people! woooooooooo..........................................

I am gonna go sleep.

Ok. Great. I didn't touch the computer for the whole day, except for now. After breakfast, I started doing F maths , all the way till 9+ pm. Pro right. haha~

For no apparent reason, my phone was spoilt. Its stopwatch function stopped working and my selected ringing tone didnt sound when others call me. Instead, when I receive a call, the ringing tone that plays is this wierd, cracking and hissing sounds with someone growling, as if in extreme pain, in the background.... Nah just kidding. haha. But anyway, the ringing tone is down and my phone does not play the ringing tone that I selected. I should get it to the service centre soon. Perhaps I could take this chance to upgrade to my beloved N73. Nihihihihihi...

All right I didn't crap this part. While I am waiting for my computer to start up, I could hear some creaking sounds coming from my kitchen window(my com is in the living room which is next to the kitchen). I went to see what it is but there is nothing and the sound stopped when I went near the window. Then the creaking sounds started again when I sat down in front of my computer. I went to see a second time and again theres nothing. Then when I sat down, it started again~~~ In my opinion, it sounds like something is climbing across the window grills. I almost wanted to stand up and bend down and look at the kitchen windows through my legs cause according to The Eye 10, a horror film, you will be able to see ghosts in that position. However, I decided against it because I do not want to risk being traumatised on the eve of my F maths paper. Besides, the sounds have stopped now. And when I took a picture of my kitchen window with my phone, nothing out of the ordinary appeared on the picture.

Perhaps its just the wind.

Or is it?

Gonna go play my Uncharted Waters for awhile before sleeping.

"Its so unfair, the three of you have saw the ghosts but I haven't. I don't care. I wanna see one tonight. Otherwise we are not going home!" - a character in The Eye 10. Be careful what you wish for. (For some reason, a chilly feeling went thru my body while typing the above quote. I hope its just me....)

Woooo one more night before my prelims tomorrow... no big deal I guess.
Needless to say, I have been doing physics all day today.

After studying for some time, I needed a rest so I went and drew a mini portrait of King Bradley from FullMetal Alchemist. Actually, I copied the picture from the comic haha. Anyways, it turned out to be better than I expected, considering the fact that I am a novice, no, a noob at drawing =/

A little bit info about the Fuhrer.
King Bradley(yeah King is his name, how cool does that sound) is the leader of the nation of Amisiris in the FullMetal Alchemist world. He is also the commander-in-chief, the highest authority, of the Amisiris Military. In addition, he is also in charge of the formidable State Alchemists, an organization created by him to recruit potential alchemists to fight for the military and to defend the nation. These state alchemists are sometimes referred to as ''living weapons''.

King is exceptionally well trained in sword arts and he used his extraordinary skills to elminate every single person he sees during the raid on Demon's Bar. Lets just say his a super-ultra-pro in sword fighting.

King also has a secret identity.........

"I am not a True Leader you say..... well let me tell you this boy; there is no such thing as a True Leader. My citizens will not become my liability. Now allow me to end your miserable life!'' - King Bradley

The more we study,
the more we know.
The more we know,
the more we forget.
The more we forget,
the less we know.
So, why study?

I believe most people are aware of the above fact but the irony is, millions of students and other people across the planet are still studying constantly. To think homo sapiens are intelligent creatures...

Anyways, after one week of continuous studying, I finally finished my revision and have started practicing questions. My first paper starts next Tuesday and it is Physics. Not sure if I can do well since I haven't started doing any questions on Physics :s Have been doing Maths all day today.

I really want to thank my beloved Pikachu for accompanying me while I am slugging my brain to oblivion. Without its companion, I am sure I can't focus as well as I can with it around.

"Go go go, you can solve that damn question Jin!"

"Pikachu, do you have any idea what this phrase means?"

"No."

"You stupid Pokemon!"

What am I?

Fuck myself. Who the hell do I think I am?

I always thought I was needed.
It turns out that its just my wilful thoughts.
I am not needed. I never was.
Of course... that is so obvious.
How could I have not noticed?
It must be me and my wishful thinking.
I am nothing compared to somebody.
I am such a dick.
I should wake up and accept reality.
Stop living in my fantasy world anymore.
Stop having unrealistic thoughts.
Stop lusting for the swan's meat.
And accept the cold hard facts.
I shall long for nobody anymore.
And live life for myself.

But I know I am lying to myself. I can't get over it. Its just to difficult. I am such a weakling.

My night

Very slack today. Only revised three topics; Matrices, Eigenvectors and Eigenvalues and Vector Spaces.

Tonight is my night. I am very happy. One can even say I am extremely elated because I can finally play a classic(very classic... old that is) game, Uncharted Waters 2: New Horizons on my PC!!! I used to be able to play it but thats when I am using Windows 98. Three years ago, when I switched to XP, I can't play the game. But tonight, I went to surf the net to solve the problem and after downloading a certain programme from the net, the game can finally run smoothly on Windows XP. Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

I also found out a hidden secret about Alphonsus. Mwahahahahahah~~~

Going off to revise abit more before sleeping...

Warped~

Yesterday:

Went to United Square for breakfast with Sher. Ate a set of Big Breakfast meal, one piece of hotcake from Sher's hotcake meal(she cant finish) and a sausage McMuffin burger. Havent ate such a heavy breakfast in a long time. We were sitting beside this family of three that is... erm... not very nice in my opinion. The mom talks loudly, so much so that we could hear practically their entire conversation. And I get this feeling that the mom is trying to boast to us about her immense pool of knowledge because she suddenly talked about Da Vinci Password to her daughter.. but she don't seem to know that Da Vinci's masterpiece - the Mona Lisa - is called the Mona Lisa. She kept referring to it as the ''woman picture''. Well, perhaps its just me and my oversensitive feelings :s

Went to walk walk after eating and then went home. Sher's sister came down today.

Initially wanted to start revising but I fell asleep. When I wake up, it was already 6pm+. Didnt felt like studying. So just lazed around for the rest of the night.

Today:

9.30 am - Sher asked me out for breakfast at Mac's again. Realising that its time for me to start revising and that time is running out, I kindly rejected her invitation.

10am - Turned on my com and defragment it. Was hoping that it would make my com run faster but I dun see much difference.

10.45am - Performed a disk check for my com. Nothing much is wrong with it.

11.30am - Played Rise of Nations.

12pm - Took out the stuffs which I will be revising.

12.05pm - Went back to play Rise of Nations.

1pm - Ate the chicken rice which mom bought.

1.15pm - Ate several other side dishes like biscuits and raisins.

1.35pm - Re-read my Pokemon comics from before

2pm - Went to expel bio-toxins in the toilet

2.15pm - Started revision.

5.35pm - Rest. Took a bath.

6.00pm - Fell asleep while lying on my bed.

8.10pm - Woke up and realised that I had dozed off unknowingly and had two more topics to go.

8.20pm - Had dinner.

8.30pm - Watched "Get Rea!" on ChannelnewsAsia. This episode talks about male foreign workers coming to Singapore to work in the day and prostitute themselves(yes, themsevles) to other men(yes, other MEN) for money. The place where these workers solicit for business is at Little India, which is close to my house. Hmmmm....

9.00pm - Went to 7-11 to pay my overdue internet bills.

9.15pm - Came back and started revising my Current of Electricity and Electromagnetic Induction.

11.00pm - Done for the day.

Thats about it. Gonna play a round of Rise of Nations and after that, going to watch the Fullmetal Alchemist which mom recorded for me last Saturday before going to sleep.

Xu Jing Yi Chang

This blog is for yesterday, Saturday, 2nd of Semptember 2006.

Went to get a new phone with Sher, her aunt and her granddad at Bugis. The new Nokia N73. I have been eyeing it since its release but Sher beat me to own it first grrr.... then again, I can't afford it anyways >.< So, everybody, the Nokia N73 is in my wish-list hehehehehehe.

After that Sher treated the three of us to Coffee Bean. Its my first time drinking there.
Well, a funny incident happened.
Sher's granddad wanted a drink called ''latte'' but I dint know that its called ''latte'' initially. So, when I went to order the drinks, I told the waitress ''Excuse me, I would like a cup of Vanilla Ice Blended with cream and Chocolate Ice Blended without cream.'' Then I paused for awhile and then said ''..... I am not sure about this but do you have a type of coffee that is hot and has bubbles on top? Capuccino?''
.
.
.
.
The waitress looks stunned for and gave me the what-the-heck-am-I-talking-about look before responding ''Erm, we have latte. Is that what you are looking for?'' Needless to say, I realized that I am in some sort of shit situation so I just said Yes, collected my drinks and ran back to my seats. I told what happened to the rest and they laughed at me =/

Then after drinking we went to walk around Bugis before settling our dinner at the food court there. I had roti prata! yay, been a while since I last ate it. Nice.

I went to Sher's house after eating and slack them till 9+pm when we decided to go Cathay to watch the 9.30pm show for Lovewrecked. We dashed downstairs, hailed a cab, jumped into it and asked the driver to step on the gas. We zoom pass the many cars on the road and the driver dashed thru several traffic lights at our demands. He also did several dangerous swerves to avoid crashing. We reached the Cathay at 9.25pm. Just in time mwhahaha.

The show was superb. It is so nice and heart warming. And funny of course haha.
I would give it 9.763547 stars out of 10.

Sher needed to visit the toilet after the show which is about 11.10pm++

*******Then, the unexpected happened again.*******

Sher could not find her religious pendant which is used to bless her with good fortune. And no, its not shaped like a bird. And yes, it is very important because according to Sher, her mom would scold the soul of out her and kao peh kao bu and raise the roof if she ever found out that Sher lost the pendant.

So we went back to the theatre but we could not find it. We traced our steps and looked carefully on the ground we have walked past before. Nope. Failed to find it.

Sher sort of gave up hope and looked pretty dejected on our way back. She kept talking how suay she was and how is it possible that she lost two things in two consecutive days.

We tried searching for the pendant some more by tracing the steps we took when we departed the house. No good.

Since there is nothing we could do anymore, we went home.
On my way back, I SMSed her if she could find it at home and she Yes.
Ok. She told me she dint lose it in the first place. She dropped it in her room while changing just now...

This is what I call ''Xu Jing Yi Chang''.

bloody me

YAY! I have recovered from my illness. Doc says it will take abt 3 days for me to recover but I felt better since wednesday afternoon. Am I miraculous or wat? haha *slapz* *slapz*

Still I am glad that I made it for my GP prelims exam yesterday... Otherwise I would be so dead.

Wanted to find people to go swim with me this afternoon but everyone seems to be busy with their work. So I decided that perhaps I should go alone but mom has something to say (as usual) about my decision.

Excerpts: ''Dun go lah. Just recover only then go and swim. Later you fall sick again I will have to pay for your medical fees again.'' Mom will always be mom. Money first, child second.

Anyways, I went and took a nap instead. Slept from 1.10pm to like.... 1.59pm haha. I was awoken by a call from Sher who asked me to go out with her.

We met and MRTed all the way to PS. She can't find what she wants there (a pair of converse sneakers) and so we walked all the way to Far East plaza(really its very far away.. no lame joke intended). We pass by the Istana and saw many police officers outside. They looked like they were searching for something. Perhaps our First Lady lost her ring or something haha.

We finally reached Far East where I bought a pair of whitish-blackish bermuda and she bought two pieces of blouse or shirt or whatever you girls call them. Blimey me. I have been using alot of money recently and not saving up.... Lets see:

Class fund: $20
Sch year book: $15
Bermudas: $35
GP essays from RJC: $18
Canteen food(one week): $15
Pen: $1.20
The shirt which I will be buying later: $32

Thats a whopping $127.20. Might sound little to some people but it means alot to meeeeeeeeee...
How I wish my dad is a rich man. Or my mom a rich lady. Haha. I can continue wishing.

After accompanying Sher to eat at a chicken rice stall in far east, we taxi-ed all the way to Bugis where Sher went to see her female friend who works there and talk(yak yak yak yak). I waited for a few, a few, minutes before they are done. Then Sher suggest me and her go lunch with her friend. What can I say? Her friend is somewhat good looking and looks very mature. And she has long hair!! Went to have mac and thruout the whole meal I was like stoning and looking at stuff while the two girls were yakking away. Damn. I cant make it when it comes to interacting with girls. I dunno what to say and dunno how to enter their conversation.... Perhaps I shall get TEd to teach me something.

Anyways after eating Sher's fren gotta go back to work so we said goodbye. Then I and sher went to Bugis street where I bought the above mentioned shirt...

After walking ard some more we decided to bus-ed all the way to Marina Square. Sher bought a pair of skirt there and then we walk ard some more before deciding to go play arcade.

We played this game which test you on ur reflexes, co ordination and skill. Its like we gotta hit the corresponding button for what appears on the screen. Sher thrashed me~ We left after that and we tot of catching a movie.

*******Then, the unexpected happened.********

Sher discovered that her handphone was LOST!

Both of us was astonished by this fact and were caught totally off guard. We started to panic and... WTH am i talking about? Anyways both of us suddenly recalled that Sher left her phone on the control panel of the game machine we were playing on earlier so using my sprinting technics which my PE teachers taught me in school, I dashed back into the arcade towards that machine. But it was too late! the hand phone was no longer there! somebody took it ahhhh...

I felt so bad about it coz I touched the phone when it was on the control panel but i forgot to take it with me when we left... thank goodness sher dint blame me but still....................................

SORRY sher.

theres nothing we can do abt it so we went and catch the movie Monster House. Quite a funny movie haha.

went back after that.

One down...

All right its official. I have fallen sick. The fever virus caught me. Got one day of MC for tomorrow. Initially the doctor wanted to give me two days but I have an exam on Thursday....

Ah heck its always like that; I tend to fall sick during major examinations. I fell sick during my O levels back in 2004, fell sick again during mid year exam last year and now this...

Wonder how the hell am I gonna pass my exam this Thursday.

Then again, I can push myself to blog but cant push myself to study. Guess I am bound to fail.

Ugh my head..............

breaking down..

Got back my physics mock results today and sadly, it is not very good.
Felt abit unwell during school. Was lethargic and can't concentrate during lessons. Head felt very heavy.
Went back home and slept for a few hours.
Felt better but still got this sicky feeling.
Seriously I can't afford to fall sick.
Prelim starts this Thursday.
Need to study for it.

Read about World War Two during my break in the library today.
Realised that Hitler has always wanted to visit Paris as a tourist.
His dream was fulfilled when he occupied France.
He went to visit the Eiffel Tower, Arch de Troimph, Napoleon's Tomb and many other places.
He was reported saying ''My dream has come true.''

I wanted to read Mein Kampf (pronounced Mine Camf) by Hitler but my friend told me that its a rather sucky book in the sense that all his arguments and ideas were baseless and extremely biased. Still, I want to read it to know what are his thoughts and his rational for starting World War 2.

As I am writing this I am also watching the Ultimate Comedian on TV. Its a show to scout for comdedian in Singapore. So far, I felt that all the candidates were obscenely lousy. Either their performance SUCKS and were not a single bit funny or they just copy ideas from other comedians in other country. And the worst part is they can't copy properly...
The show is pretty hopeless in my opinion.

just another day

Went swimming yesterday. Went to the Bishan Swimming Complex. Felt that its a nice place. The ambience appeals to me. Got lotsa sun. And not very many people. Might be swimming there from now on.

On the way I saw lotsa friends of my friend. What can I say? Its his turf anyways.

Had my teacher's day celebrations yesterday. The concert was not half bad. Some performance were quite interesting. Like the yoyo performance. Dint know you could do so many stunts with a yoyo.

Got myself tanned from the swim. I like it. But it may start to peel off soon.

I told myself I shall begin revisions for my preliminary exams today but I found myelf blogging about yesterday instead. Then again, I WILL start today.

Am really cash strapped now. I have been spending my pocket money thoroughly every week for the past few weeks and saved up none. Gonna be broke soon.

"Without ample preparation, you can just wait to fail."

Series of unfortunate events... well maybe not

This past week has been a very unpleasant one for me...

First, my grades for my mock examinations are not good. I failed my further maths paper and got 73/100 for my maths paper. While the latter might sound like an impressive grade, it is actually not because the maths paper was an *obscenely* easy paper and my maths teacher expected my class, a Further maths class, to score at least 85 and above for it. Most of my classmates scored more than 85 with only a handful that didn't. I am part of that handful. To make things worst, my friends from other classes that didn't take further maths managed to score 90++ for the paper. I am really very disappointed with my results. The most sickening part is I got friends that didn't revise for the paper and managed to get 85+. I revised for it and got this kind of retarded grades...

Secondly, my mom has been throwing her tantrum more often than usual and she seems to make it a habit now to keep nagging at me. I don't know why. Her unreasonable caprices have make my whole family drift further apart.. Its like we do not talk to each other as often as before anymore. My brother seems to be irritated by my mother my dad no longer bothers to argue with her. As for me, I have no choice but to comply with whatever she says~ I dunno if it is right to feel this way but I really can't wait to get into the army where I won't have to face all these crap everyday.

Thirdly, I have been feeling pretty restless and slack these few days. I don't why its like I can't bring myself to pay attention in class and the moment I reached home, I will be facing my computer. I haven't been studying and haven't been doing all the revision package worksheets my teacher has given us. My preliminary examinations will commence next Thursday. And I haven't revised for a single subject yet... Its totally not like me to be so slack and indifferent to examinations. In the past I would be mugging like shit but now? I dunno whats becoming of me... At this rate I might have trouble passing my A levels.

Went for my NS vocational assignment at the Commandos Training Institute at Pasir Ris yesterday. When I reached the meeting point where a bus will deliver us to the camp, I saw many people from other JCs, polys and ITEs. I thought I would be alone for the whole thing then suddenly I saw Guo Shiong my friend. Didn't expect him to be here as well but oh well, I could use his company hahaahaha... Anyways we were first given a psychological assessment which lasts about 1.5 hours. The questions they asked were quite funny cause they are all very easy and are those kind of Duh~ questions. So much so that I was wondering ''Hmm are all these questions really as easy as they seem to be?''. We were then brought the the field where we were tested on how many chin-ups, push-ups and sit-ups we could do. Then we went for the standing board jump as well. After which we were told to do some exercises that tested our agility, endurance, balance and all. I fared quite well for all the segments I guess. Next we were given half an hour's break and after that its time for the interviewing session. At first I thought that it would be like a room with three soldiers sitting at one end and then I would be sitting in the middle and they will just start shooting questions at me those kind of scenarios. Luckily, it was nothing of that sort haha. Its just a one to one interview in the canteen and we took turns to see the interviewers one by one. I waited for some 30 minutes before its my turn. My interviewer was somewhat casual as in he just asked me some questions and then tick tick tick on a sheet of paper. He seems to be rather serious when talking to me. I spents less than 5 minutes in the interview. After that, I went to sit at a corner to wait for Guo Shiong who was still being interviewed and I saw that my interviewer treats the other interviewee quite differently. He chatted with them and was like smiling all the way through and he spent well more than 5 minutes with them...

Sheez guess my chances of becoming a commando is quite low eh... I want to be one!

Went home after the interview. For no apparent reason, the train ride home seems to be faster and the train ride to pasir ris. Wierd.

I am back!

Haha its been awhile since I last updated...

Had my General Paper mock exam today and it was so mental straining.. to make things worst I had to sit for my Phyics continual assessment after my GP paper. 4.5 hours of continuous test and exam.... this is sheer madness. Ah but at least some funny stuff happened during the exam. The invigilator for the GP exam, Mr. Fahy, likes to shout shout and shout. He even shouts into the microphone. So when it was time for the paper to end, he shouted into the mic ''TIMES UP!!!'' and the whole lecture theatre jumped. LOL. Alphonsus, who was sitting beside me, practically jumped out of his seat and he was like 'F***' etc etc lol. It was an amusing sight and I had to try very hard to not laugh... WAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The physics test was rather difficult in my opinion, guess its time i start revising seriously and cut down on my Mapling hours.

Looking forward to tomorrow as it is the beginning of my National Day holidays which will last 3 days from tomorrow to Thursday wooo. Will be going to school tomorrow for a Big Walk(7++ km) as part of our National Day celebration. How that has got anything to do with my country's birthday I don't know. Heard that we would be released at 11 am tomorrow YAY!

Just bought a red crumpler yesterday and thought that no one in school has it but to my horror, I saw a girl carrying it today...AHHHHH haiz. I think I should not have bought the crumpler since it is actually very plain in design and its dirt-like common.. Everybody seems to be carrying it nowadays. But the good thing is the bag is very durable. Guess I won't be changing bags for the next ten years haha.

July 17, 2006

I have been pretty busy these past few days; reports, assignments etc etc.

A Ms Rosaly Lopes from NASA came down to my school last Wednesday and gave us a talk about Saturn's largest Moon - Titan(Duh~). She is part of the ongoing Cassini Project which aims to reveal what lies beneath the thick atmosphere of Titan. Yes, an atmosphere on a moon. This is what makes Titan interesting. Furthermore, based on the images they have obtained from the Cassini and Huygen spacecraft they sent there, they extrapolated that Titan's terrain might be similar to that of Earth, with rivers, mountains, plateaus and perhaps with ocean - but one filled with liquid methane instead. They think that methane would be the water for Titan and they suggest that there might be rain on Titan as well. However, the prospects of life on Titan is rather dim as the average temperature is around -200 degree celsius. Any lifeform on Titan would no doubt be cold-blooded.

I enjoyed the talk, partly because I am interested in our univerese and party because joining NASA is my dream! Yes, I would like to play a part in ushering mankind into the Space Age. And I am gonna work hard for it - more mugging XD

Went to swim over the weekend and discovered to my horror that I can only swim 20 laps compared to the usual 40. Thats the kind of thing one month of mugging and gaming can do to your stamina and fitness. Perhaps because it was really crowded that day, so much so that I accidentally hit somebody swimming past me and got a cut on my hand~ nothing serious though. I wonder how badly injured that person's face is lol

All right gotta go now, dad's downstairs waiting for me.

July 11, 2006

just another dream?

I believe my memory is starting to improve because I remembered to zip everytime after visiting the toilet today.

I don't know what is this I am feeling.

This person is constantly on my mind. I can't focus on my work because I would keep thinking about this person. The thought of this person would miraculously brighten up my mood. I will be at a lost for words whenever I am around this person even though deep down in my heart, I want to talk to this person so bad. I would often steal glances at this person whenever possible, half-hoping that I would be seen, half-hoping that I would not be seen.

Whats gotten over me?

Is it just another crush?

Or am I in love?

My first adolescent relationship ended abruptly. One day, she suddenly decided to ignore me altogether. My friends tole me that I was ditched. I was 11 then.

I guess I could say that I was still young at that time and didn't really fathom the complexities of a boy-girl relationship.

But now, I am already 18. Am I ready to devote myself to a second relationship?

I don't know...

But first, am I even appealing to this person?

I don't know...

One thing is for sure though, I would cherish this person wholeheartedly if we could establish a relationship.

But how can I be so sure?

I don't know...

Can I ensure the perpetuity of our relationship?

I don't know...

In the end, nothing is absolute. Thats why Einstein came up with the Theory of Relativity.

So many questions but not a single answer. Guess I will continue thinking about this person for the time being. Then again, I should keep my hopes lower. That way, I would feel less pain. Reality is not so kind.

Oh, by the way, I got 61/100 for Physics, just to update my previous post

'Life goes on, with or without love'

senile dementia?

Hmm I have a confession to make - I've got short term memory! How do I know? Recently, everytime after going to the toilet, I -urm- kinda keep forgetting to zip up x(

Ah well, go ahead and laugh at me, call me an idiot, a moron, a retard whatever.

But somehow, nobody seems to notice it though. I can walk from the first floor toilet to my classroom on the forth floor without having anyone making wierd gestures at me or giggling at me. Its always my friend beside me in class that inform me of this atrocity(how they know it in the first place, I don't know) then I would immediately zip up. Either that or I would just notice it subconsciously. If not I would just suddenly remember that I forgot to zip up. Wierd. Wonder if theres anything wrong with my brain.

I think its the fourth time already. Crap, I must do something about it.

Then again, its wierd that I can always remember to wash my hands...

All right my mid-year exams results are back and my grades are not exceptionally fantastic but they are not obscenely abyssmal as well.

English - 53/100; Grade C
Physics - Not told about the marks yet; Grade B
C. Maths - 64/100; Grade B
Further Maths - 63/100; Grade B

I am not really very pleased with my results because I knew that I could have done better if I had spend more effort practicing questions instead of just memorising the formulas and stuff.. Guess I will work harder for my prelims.

At least I won't get a dressing down during the parents-teachers meeting.

Oh and I have been feeling rather good yesterday(yes this blog is for yesterday) and this morning(I am writing yesterday's blog today). I wonder why....

Gotta go to school now.

''WHY! Why must Zidane go headbutt that person. ARGHHH its his last match and he chose to remember it with a Red Card and not a Championship Trophy. What the heck could he be thinking?!''

July 08, 2006

Hi, are you interested in knowing more?

Yesterday and today was the MOE Excel Fest. Its an event created by the education ministry for schools to showcase their various projects. It was held in Catholic High School and I was in charge of promoting the National Youth Achievement Award scheme to the public and other schools. My teammates and me just stood at our booth and attend to people that seems interested. Overall, it was quite a boring task since not very many people are keen to know more about the scheme but there are some that are interested in knowing more though. The other booths during the Fest was rather interesting as well. One was telling people how silk is obtained from the coccoon of silkworms and they even has an actual demonstration. Then there is also one that exhibited robots. They have this robotic snake that seems to move whenever the visitors touches it but actually the displayer is controlling it with a small remote control in his hand. Some of the kids present at the Fest was quite smart as well, they actually know what a photon is, stuff that you won't get to learn until you reached the JC level.

While waiting for visitors to enter our booth, Dwayne would spin a pen in his hand from finger to finger and he could do it very well. I tried to mimic his actions but failed. I can't even spin the pen around my thumb. Guess my fingers are not very flexible. Still, I will continue honing my pen spinning skills . I was also told by James that there is a National Pen Spinning Club and that the members are really the experts in pen spinning haha. I din't know they would actually go and create a club for pen spinning :s

I was so glad when my shift today for the Fest is over because it was really really very boring standing at our booth most of the time and asking passer-by ''Are you interested in knowing more about the NYAA program?''. It would be good if they wants to know more because then we can kind of chat with them. But there really isnt very many people thats interested in knowing more though. I wonder why my teacher wants to make NYAA a subject in school...

My cousin came over today to have a drink with my second brother.. in the late afternoon and I temporarily became a waiter -_-''. Took a nap after that and woke up at 8pm. Have to do my homework now and gotta finish my NYAA report arghhh that damned 15000 words long report >.< Anyways I was browsing through the net earlier on and found some cute photos which I
have decided to place it here since I don't feel like starting work yet.

'Awww look at those black beady eyes.'

'This cup makes my face look big'

'Bedtime'

'Brotherly love'

'Eeek, get away'

'Dont even think of patting him!'

'Howdy'

'Tasty nut'

'Hey, gimme a hand'

It pretty hot tonight. Guess I will take another shower later. And I still don't feel like doing my work.

remember remember the 4th of july

Today is a day where history was written, a day where a great nation was formed. 230 years ago, after a long struggle for freedom from the British King which eventually led to the defeat of General Cornwallis, the Continental Congress announed to the entire world that Great Britain no longer owns the colonies in North America. These colonies would then come together to form the United States of America, the country that helped usher mankind into a new age and the superpower that help defend and preserve world peace. The United States is a great nation indeed, from a fledgling new nation with humble origins, they have emerged to become one of the most advanced civillisation the world has ever seen. The invention of aeroplanes, the construction of the world's tallest building, the computer, the light bulb, the artificial heart and the landing of a man on the moon - these seemingly impossible feats were all accomplished by the Americans.

Today is the commemoration of the that fateful day which made all these wonderful things possible. The 4th of July, Independence Day of the United States.... and my birthday!

All right, today is my eighteenth birthday and I am officially recognized as an adult by the Singapore government(nope, as much as I wish, I am not an American, not that I hate being a Singaporean), meaning that I can legally own a dildo, carry it around the street and slap people with it. Eventually, I will be arrested by the police for public harressment and be taken to a police station for interrogation. The police will ask me where did I obtain the dildo and I will just say ''Sir, I found it in the shower room of this building''.............................................................GTA anybody?

Ok there are pros and cons to being an adult. One of the pros is what I have just mentioned above.. and one of the cons is that you will have more responsibility. In due time, I will have to look after myself myself, get a job, please my superiors, complete my tasks on time, get a girl, get married, get a kid, look after my kid etc etc etc. Maybe I am fast forwarding way too into the future but true enough, with more freedom comes more responsibility. I would have to exercise my freedom responsibly. Otherwise, I could risk being lock up for public harressment.

I got an upset stomach today and spent some 30 minutes in my school toilet expelling biotoxins. I thought my friend was serious in getting me a Risk 2210A.D. for my birthday present but it turned that he was just joking with me grrrrr. Curse you Alphonsus and Kenneth! You shall be banished for lying. Anyway, after school, the three of us went to United Square to exchange my comics; I bought Fullmetal Alchemist book 3 and 4 yesterday but they were published by a different publisher from my book 1 and 2. The formers were published by Dong Li while the latters were published by Chuang Yi. The two types of comics were different in sizes so they do not look really presentable on my shelf~ Anyways, thank goodness the shopkeeper allowed me to exchange my Dong Li books for Chuang Yi books.

I went home after that and my stomach were still not ok, its like all my gastric juices are churning inside me and that feeling is -ugh- dreadful. I took a bottle of stomachache-relief medicine and felt slightly better. Then, after bathing, I went to take a nap without turning on the fan. The result was I woke up with my shirt partially wet. Yes, its that hot. I was abruptly awakened by the telephone. I went to answer it and my mom was on the line, shes coming back today and wanted me to go downstairs to help her carry her luaggages. She asked my to go down at 5.45pm so I waited for 5.45pm duh~ However, when I was about to go down, she appeared and the doorstep and was yelling at me, asking me what took me so long. I was trying to explain but all my efforts were drowned in her roar. Not wanting to argue with her, I just let her continue roaring but she kinda went overboard and start shouting crappy stuff like 'Other people have children, so do I. But why is my children so horrendous.' I was like 'Hello, you just returned home and you are engulfing the entire house with your ridiculous and loud remarks. Do you even remember its my 18th birthday!!!' Of course I said that in my heart for I do not wish to incur her wrath. Some of her remarks were really sickening, so much so that I got pretty pissed off with her. After a few minutes of shouting, she sorta cooled down(hey shouting do releases your stress) and come ask me, who has been silent all this while, to go for dinner. Since she has already decided to make peace with me, I decided to do the same as well :D

She and dad went to order the food first while I went over to Uncle Andy's house to wish him happy birthday and gave him his present. As usual, he gave me another Swatch. Drats, perhaps I should buy him something more expensive next year... Sher gave me a long sleeve shirt and I like it alot. Maybe I will wear it next time I go out with her. Sher's grandma, who is also uncle Andy's mother, gave me a red packet. Woo, I am gonna be rich for a while haha.

I went back to find my parents and started eating and after eating, I went to ordered a cup of sugar cane juice. Thats when my stomach act up again. The churning feeling is back and for a moment I thought I was gonna puke out what I ate. Thank goodness I didn't. Since my stomach is not well, my mom says that she won't be buying a birthday cake for me since I can't eat it anyway. Ahh wth mom your so cheap!!! But then again, I seem to have lost my appetite. The only presents I received for the rest of the night are red packets - money. I think thats the best kind of present since I can buy what I want with the cash instead of getting something I don't really like but I know its the thought that counts... Still, I really wished somebody would get me a Risk 2210A.D. or even better, a PS3 *slapz*

My stomach feels better now but there is still this funny feeling. I hope it would go away soon. Come to think of it, my stomach starts to go haywire during school time, so it must be the Honey Stars which I ate in the morning... perhaps its because I left it on the table for too long before consuming it..

the sheriff's not at home!

My mom is away on a vacation. She left Singapore for Batam yesterday morning, leaving me, my father, my second brother and his wife at home. She won't be back until the 4th of July which is this Tuesday. I can't wait for her to get back because well, anarchy seems to have taken over my apartment. 'Anarchy' might be too strong a word but I can't really find any other better word to replace it ^.^ Anyways, my bro's wife, who will always smoke outside the apartment when mom's around now makes it a habit to smoke in the toilet instead, filling it with the pungent cigarette smell. Everytime I need to use the toilet, I had to fan the darn smoke out. Its like what the heck, I have to clean up after her!!! Then my dad, who used to be at home with my mom on most Sundays disappeared early in the morning and didn't return until late evening. The four of us went to have dinner with my aunt ah moi, aunt sharon, uncle peow and uncle joe which cost $161. The food was really good. My dad downed two bottle of Carlsberg with uncle peow and they were in a semi-drunk state after that. My dad then suggest that they continue drinking at peow's home and uncle peow agreed instantly. So we made our way to his house( my bro and his wife went home) and they downed another bottle of Carlsberg, 5 cans of Carlsberg and 4 cans of Guiness. At this instant, they were drunk and were uttering rubbish, hilarious rubbish. I had never seen my dad in such a drunken stupor before. Aunt ah moi then teased him, saying that ''Whoa your wife not around then you very happy right.'' and I believe that the statement she made was true to a large extent. To be honest, I like my dad better when he is a sober man. We went home at 12am.

All right thats what happened at night.

My brother decided to repaint his room from blue to white and surprisingly, he didn't ask me to help lol. In the past, he would always demand me to help him do his stuff. Since he didn't ask for my help, I didn't bother to offer it as well. You all know how tiring it is to paint a room right :P My dad disappeared awhile after I woke up but he bought me some crappy noodle for breakfast. It sucks. I went to watch Yu-Gi-Oh on Kids Central after that(I was browsing through the channels and that was the only show that appeals to me most) and went to United square with Sher in the afternoon. Before that, Sher went to have her breakfast/lunch at the hawker centre and we had to wait like one hour for her fried rice to arrive! If business is really that good, I wonder why the stall owners(they are a couple; the husband cooks and the wife serves) didnt hire assistants to help them.

I finally got my Fullmetal Alchemist comic 1 and 2. 15 books were out already but I only bought enough cash to buy two. I went to have some Minimelts ice cream next and boy, they tasted good(its my first time). For unknown reasons, I felt very hungry and so, went to Subway with Sher. I ordered a Parmesan bread with ham, tuna and all the veggies and boy, they tasted awesome(is it just me or wat?) Sher ordered the same meal as me but without all the veggies. I think I made a fool out of myself while ordering because the waitress was looking at me in a wierd sort of way but hey its my first time ordering ok, in the past, I always got my friends to buy the food for me! Now I know that they will put in all the veggies for you unless you tell them what not to put in. And that you can choose to toast the bread as well. And you pronounce Parmesan as Par-mer-sawn instead of Par-mi-san(shucks).

Sher and I went to shop for a birthday present for my uncle Andy whose birthday is just round the corner. After much deliberation, I decided to buy an Addidas shirt for him and Sher decided to buy an Addidas track pants for him. We bought our stuff in the same shop lol. Come to think of it, its my first time giving somebody a birthday present(well i cant really remember if its really my first time but heck). I used to be indifferent in the past because I don't really expect people to be giving me bday presents since I don't really celebrate my bday with anybody other than my family. And the presents I receive are more or less standard; a bday cake and some hong bao(red packets containing money). Thats it. I like things to be simple and don't really like crowds, especially when they crowd in a puny three-room flat-_-'' But uncle Andy was a different case cause he always remembers my birthday(well thats coz both our bday lies on the same day which, coincidentally, is a great day *grins*) and has given me Swatches for bday presents! So, if I still don't buy him a present, I will be tantamount to an ungrateful person. You might say I am a cheapo but hey its the most expensive gift($55) I have ever given to anybody and besides, I am just a student with limited finance, so I can't afford luxury items. Its the heart that counts anyhow haha. Sher went to a wrapping store to get the track pants wrapped with a green translucent(weird choice imo) wrapping paper. She kind of wasted $1 because the way the attendant wraps the present is so simple that Sher might as well wrap it herself lol.

It was already 3++pm by then and Sher said its time for her to go home to revise! Am I hearing things? Sher revising during non-exams period? Ahahahah... Anyways good for you Sher! Continue to be constant in your revision and I am sure your mid-year grades will not repeat itself. GANBATE!!!
[Apparently, Sher lacks determination. How do I know? I called her a short while after I reached home and her maid said that she went out again...]

My bro has not finish painting when I reached home and, needless to say, the living room and my parents room, which is also my room(yep I am a momma's boy), was still packed with stuff from his room. There was very little space so I just sat in a corner in my room and read three quarters of my FMA comic 1. After that, my bro was done so I went to help him pack everything into his room again. The whole house was rather dusty and the floor is quite sticky so I sweeped and mopped the entire apartment. It was 7.30pm when I am done and my dad suddenly appeared out of nowhere... We went to have dinner next and ...... you know what happened next.

Yawnz~ so tired but don't feel like sleeping. I think my body clock has kind of been adjusted. I tried sleeping at 12am the day before but couldn't fall asleep until 3am. Then I will wake up automatically up at around 9-10am the next morning and this has been happening for the past few days. Darn, too much late night sleeping during the holidays.. better start tweaking my clock now.

When its over... is it really over?

HUUUUUUAAAAAAHHH..........

All right, my mid-years examinations are finally over! Yes! God save the Queen! Wooo!!!Wee!!
*Ahem*

The papers were not exactly very difficult and I can manage them but as usual, there were some questions that I cannot do. The Physics paper were very easy in my opinion but unfortunately, I do not have enough time to complete it(Grrr..)
My school library is being renovated and a temporary library has been set up in our Student Development Centre. The new library will be larger and have more books and there will be more computers for us to use as well. Finally, the school decided to renovate the library after leaving it there for like 30 years(Thats what I think ^.^) Ahh but I won't really get to enjoy the new facility since I will be graduating this year. Oh well never mind, the National Library is always there for me.

Went to have a haircut in the afternoon. I was discussing with my friend whether should I just let the barber decide what type of hairstyle to cut for me since I always had my hair cut short because well... thats the only type of hairstyle I know! I mean I have seen many trendy hair on the streets but I don't know whats the name for them. I decided that its better to have a plain hairstyle than to have one that I might not like. So off I went to the barber shop and waited for awhile before its my turn. My usual barber asked my how I want my hair to be done so I told him the usual stuff and he asked me what about the back? Do I want them to be sloped or what? Now seriously, I don't understand this slope thing and some other barber terminology so I just told him anything will do. He look as if his going to ask me again but then he stopped and told me he knows what to do. I was like ''Huh?'' Well the haircut was fine and I actually liked it! Wait a second... I always had my hair cut the same way. Hmmm one of these day I am gonna visit a salon and get a hair makeover. I have always wanted to spot long hair and dye them in some greyish colour.

I wanted to watch Silent Hill today but could not find a suitable time slot, its either I missed it already or I am not going to make it to the theatre in time. The available time slots were all in cinemas that are very far away... So I just stayed at home and played my Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patriots. Conquest games are really my predilection and I am also interested in warfare history. The beginning of Hitler's Reign, the fall of Nazi Germany, the beggining of the Cold War, the signing of Strategic Arms Limitation Talks between US and USSR, the plan to materialize the Strategic Defence Initiative, the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991..... But yet, I am not taking any history subjects in school, wierd huh haha. Well, I conquered most of the North American territories(I controlled the Americans) today but after that, I accidentally deleted my save file and had to restart my campaign. Bummer.

After a few hours of gameplay I got tired and went to take a nap. It was already 7.30++ pm when I woke up and I went to eat my dinner. Sat in front of the television after that and found out that Ah Ya, a host of the Taiwanese variety show ''I Guess I Guess I Guess Guess Guess'' is going to resign from her job and travel to New York to pursue her dreams. The farewell montage her colleagues prepared for her was quite touching. It was revealed in the show that Ah Ya's dream crush is actually Andy Lau, who gave her a photocopied version of his credit card as a farewell gift lol. He even asked her to spent as much as she wants XD.

At 11.30 pm, the horror flick, The Park, which I wanted to watch was on. I thought it was going to be real scary from the advertisements but it was not. The story is about this haunted amusement park which was built on top of a cementary. A reporter found by chance a newspaper article about a freak accident that happened in the park, which had been shut down since then, decades ago and decided to investigate it(the usual horror plot). He got killed but his friends thought he went missing and decided to search for him. So a group of teenagers went into the park in the middle of the night and got themselves killed one by one. However, two managed to survive but being alive now doesnt mean you will be alive later. Sigh, its been a long while since I last watched a truly horrifying horror flick. Final Destination 3, although not exactly a horror flick, unnerved me abit but I guess thats because I watched in alone in the cinema. Yes, I am the only person watching the show in the entire cinema. No one else was with me. I went to watch it at 3pm on a weekday at some not-so-popular theatre haha. Now that I think about it, it was quite a thrill though because I heard from my aunty that the very last row of seats in a cinema are usually not available for people to book because they are reserved for ghosts. I was seating at the second last row that time and I kept looking to the back to ensure that there is no apparitions or milky translucent entity behind me. Of course, I made it out of the cinema alive in the end. Indeed, urban legends are nothing more than legends. Perhaps I should try watching a horror flick alone at night.......

Seriously, I really hope some director can come up with a really spooky show that can freak me out. Then again, I should be careful of what I wished for.. especially now when it is the Hungry Ghost Festival for the Chinese.
