Hello people. It has been so long since I last blogged.

That is because my internet connection was down and no, its not down because I am living in Egypt. Its because somebody refuses to foot the internet bill (even though it was his responsibility). After ignoring all the bills sent to our home for the last 10 months, that person finally decided to foot the bill last Friday - a total sum of $598.00.

Like "WTH" right? Come on, even if he doesnt know what an avalanche is, he should at least know that a small snowball will become a huge snowball if you allow it to roll continuously down a slope. And that huge snowball will eventually crush him to death.

But never mind. Since he has already foot the bill (no thanks to his initiative) and since its going to be the first day of Lunar New Year soon, I shall be nice and stop talking about his retarded decision making skills.

Yes, in about 30 minutes time, the Year of the Rabbit will begin in the Lunar Calendar. As a matter of fact, I just came back not long ago from my Reunion Dinner. Sephiroth wasnt present but otherwise, the food was great. All that is left now is too wait for the ang pows tomorrow. As well as the gathering of all my family members. Haha.

Since its gonna be a new year soon, let me share one health tip with you guys which will help to achieve a better you.

Lift up your t-shirt and place your palm slightly below your right nipple. What lies underneath that patch of skin in that area is your liver. The liver is the largest organ in your body that can weight up to 1.8kg in adults. It's primary function is to purge toxins from your blood. Some other things it does is converting ammonia into urea and producing bile to break down all those fats you ingested along together with your curry chicken, mega mac, bak chor mee, satay, naan, roti prata and what nots.

Think of your liver as a filter in the fish tank. The filter removes waste particles from the water and keeps the fish tank clean.

A picture paints a thousand words. So let's have a graphic representation.

And another one.

Like a tamagotchi, our liver has an internal biological clock which dictates the liver's 'operating hours'.

9 - 11 PM:

Prime time for the liver to detox our antibody system.

Ideally, one should be relaxing and chilling during this time period so as to place minimal stress on our liver, allowing it to function smoothly.

11PM - 1AM:

Prime time for the liver to detox itself. This can be done best when you are in deep sleep.

1AM - 3AM:

Prime time for the liver to detox our gall. Likewise, it is ideal for you to be asleep during this period.

3AM - 5AM:

Prime time for the liver to detox our lungs. Since this involves our respiratory tracts, you might experience sudden coughing during this period. But its normal and the coughs will die off eventually. And you guessed it. Its best to be asleep.

5AM - 7AM:

Prime time for the liver to detox our colon. You should be awake to empty your bowels.

9AM onwards till 9PM:

Liver produces bile during this period which is then used to digest all the food you ate. Bile production is higest at 9am and decreases to the lowest at 9pm, which is why you shouldn't eat too late at night. If you really have to eat, make do with fruits and vegetables. These are easier to digest than meat.

So, by sleeping early and avoiding suppers or eating late dinners, we will place less strain on our delicate liver which in turn, enables it to purge our bodies of undesirable toxins more efficiently. This will ultimately translate into a healthier you. And better skin complexion!

As the ancient chinese saying goes "Sleeping and waking early is good for your body."

And, as I say, "Always start your day with a dump!".

With that, I wish everyone a healthy start to the Year of the Rabbit!
